Top Magazin Frankfurt recently interviewed our founder, Dr. Johannes Coy, about how his research into metabolism and the enzyme TKTL1 reshaped his understanding of sugar. He explains how conventional sugar can burden the body and why functional sugars such as tagatose offer a far healthier alternative. The European Food Safety Authority has recognised tagatose as both safe and beneficial. In addition to tagatose, Dr. Coy’s family of functional sugars includes galactose, isomaltulose, trehalose, ribose, mannose, and allulose.
In the interview, Dr. Coy also shares his vision of creating chocolates and sweets that taste exceptional while supporting blood sugar stability, dental health, and overall wellbeing, even for children. His hope is that these sugars become so widely understood and trusted that, one day, dentists may actively recommend them.
